Maurizio Dioguardi

Founder of the "Dioguardi-European Law Firm", which is registered at the Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Madrid and at the Bar Association of Rome, Maurizio works as a lawyer in the field of International and European Union Law, with particular reference to the field of international trade law, assisting small, medium and large enterprises in all the main aspects concerning internationalisation processes and foreign direct investments (industrial property, international contracts, competition, litigation in the European and international field, arbitration, international tax planning).

The assistance and consultancy are both carried out in compliance with the Business & Human Rights principles recognised and applied in the European and international sphere. Consequently, his other areas of expertise are those pertaining to international development cooperation, international economic law and social enterprises of the so-called 'Third Sector' in their European and international aspect.

After becoming an attorney in Spain, the professional opportunity to establish relationship with Latin America and the countries of the Caribbean area was open to Maurizio, who made it his own focus for a large part of his career, continuing nowadays, which also led him to gain decades of experience in the markets of Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Costa Rica and Cuba so much so that he has also broadened his professional skills in the field of strategic investment planning and the so-called 'Business & Culture' as well as in the field of comparative law (both civil and commercial).

His experience in the above-mentioned field also earned him the assignment of several lectures at the University of Padua, Faculty of Political Science, as part of the Advanced Training Course in "Latin American and Caribbean Studies" (2015 and 2016 editions), as well as his recent appointment (2022) as Director of the "International Centre for the Study of Peace and Fraternity among Peoples", established at the Humanitarian Association "Semi di Pace" - ODV, Tarquinia (VT) and Rome (RM) offices. Previously, he also held teaching positions at other Italian universities, both as a lecturer in "commercial law" (at the University of Rome "La Sapienza", Faculty of Law, with Prof. Francesco Vassalli, from 2002 to 2012) and as a contract professor of "private law" (at the E-Campus Telematic University, from 2012 to 2013, Novedrate).

With regard to his academic training, after graduating in Law from the University of Rome "La Sapienza", Maurizio completed a II level Master's Degree in "Corporate Law" from the University of Rome "Roma Tre" (2004), and a II level Master's Degree in "Alternative Dispute Resolution" from the E-Campus Telematic University (2011), the specialisation in "Roman Law" at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" (2015) and a two-year II level Master's Degree in "Roman Law and Contemporary Legal Systems" (2022) at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata".

He also attended the Summer Course in International Private Law and International Public Law at the Hague Academy of International Law (2019).

Simone Dioguardi

Simone graduated in law in 2019 from the LUMSA University in Rome (thesis in European Union Law, 'The duty to refer for a preliminary ruling pursuant to Article 267(3) TFEU: The national case law and the case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union'). After graduating, he attended a 6-week Summer School at The Hague Academy of International Law on public and private international law and then started an LLM in Food Law at the LUISS University of Rome in 2020 (thesis in Food Security and the Environment, 'The right to food and the protection of the environment: Achieving sustainability through international law’).

During the Master’s Degree, Simone was selected for a 6-month internship, later extended by further 6 months, at the Fratini Vergano - European Lawyers firm in Brussels. After completing the Master’s Degree, Simone started working at Fratini Vergano, gaining experience in the field of international trade law, agri-food and environmental law, and European Union law.

In September 2021, Simone joined Dioguardi-European Law Firm as a junior lawyer. He also joined a volunteering organisation named Associazione Umanitaria Semi di Pace - ODV for which he got elected Secretary General in 2022. He then started teaching human rights in schools through the Study Centre that was constituted by Dioguardi-European Law Firm and Semi di Pace”.

Consultant in International Relations

Federica Dioguardi

Federica graduated in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree from the LUMSA University of Rome in Political Science and International Relations (thesis in Sociology of Political Phenomena: “Tensions and Terrorism in the contemporary world. Concepts and perspectives compared”). After graduating, she moved to Ireland and stayed there for 6 months to improve her language skills and in 2020 she completed her master’s degree, in English, in International Studies at the University of ‘Roma 3’ (thesis in International Terrorism, “The Ideology of Red Brigades: from the beginning to the kidnapping of Mario Sossi”).

During her studies at the University of ‘Roma 3’, Federica participated in the UN simulation in New York, working as a delegate for the United Nations Development Program Committee at the UN headquarters in New York. Thanks to this experience she has learned how to write reports, position papers and refined techniques of negotiation, mediation and public speaking at international level.

In May 2022, Federica joined as a volunteer the humanitarian association Semi di Pace, an experience that introduced her to the world of international project, monitoring and research.
